NB Orientation Weekend and Stufffffz

Hey everyone, I’m writing this update from Colorado!! xD Which of course means SNOW!! Yey!! We are going skiing tomorrow, well, I don’t think I will be skiing, Imma gunna try my hand at snowboarding :D

So last Wednesday I was invited to the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio by John Dierkson, one of the YE (Youth Exchange) Committee members and also a member of my host club. We had tickets to see the musical production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!! It was fantastic, the theatre is really old and so cute, you kind of feel like you are inside a fairytale and the ceiling is made to look like the night sky which kind of makes you feel like you’re in an open roof theatre as well.

The atmosphere was buzzing and the production was really, really well done. They actually got the car off the ground (y’all better be familiar with the story!) and it spun around in the air, absolutely fantastic.

More importantly :P last weekend was the RYE (Rotary Youth Exchange) outbound orientation weekend which was held in my host town of New Braunfels. It was AMAZING. I think only other exchange students can appreciate the instant friendships, the vibe and the buzz you feel when everyone is all together. As the title suggest it was an outbound orientation which meant I got to meet all the students going out from our district which was fun. As it was an outbound orientation, there were many ‘planned’ activities for the inbounds, which meant we all got to hang out talking, taking photos, signing flags, playing soccer, playing volleyball and swimming(!)(It was FREEZING, but fun all the same). On the last night we went to a western dance and learnt the Two Step and the Cotton-Eyed Joe :P We all got fairly into it and danced the night away, I really need to get myself some cowboy boots though :D

But just telling you that I’m having fun doesn’t mean much, so here are some photos for y’all xD

Oh yeah, and there is a new addition to our household (well hes been here for about a week or so) Cooper!! xD He is a lilac coloured Border Collie and he is a handful!
